Welcome to The Intersectionality Primer
The internet's most accessible and actionable newsletter about how to do intersectionality.
Welcome to The Intersectionality Primer by Del Johnson and Nisreen Hasib. A newsletter aimed at being the most accessible and actionable exploration of intersectional theory, race, gender, and current events on the internet. If you’re here to sign up, you can click here. If you want to know a little more about intersectionality before subscribing, read Del’s Twitter thread here.
This weekly newsletter is for anyone who desires to be smarter on topics of race, gender and social identity, but specifically those who want to turn their knowledge into real-world action in their homes, workplaces and communities. Subscribe if you want to better understand intersectionality, including ongoing debates and controversies, the various ways intersectional theory shapes our lived experiences, and what we can do about it from any social position.
Del Johnson and Nisreen Hasib will lead the weekly conversation, and our guest writers will cover topics ranging from feminism, critical race studies, and politics. Throughout our limited run (about 10 weeks or so), will weave in events of the day to connect theory to practice. The jumping off point of the conversation will be Del’s notes from his time as a student in Kim Crenshaw’s Intersectionality Workshop at Columbia Law School. Reader participation is encouraged, and opportunities to engage with our community will be provided.
